SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) plans to shut down its aromatics plant at Huizhou site in Guangdong province from 7 January for a month-long scheduled maintenance, a company source said.
"We have already operated the plant at low rate from mid December due to shortage of feedstock," the source said in Mandarin.
The source added that the current inventory of toluene and xylene was also at low level.
The facility was slated to restart in early February, the source added.
The plant produces 120,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 100,000 tonnes/year of xylene.
