NOON SNAPSHOT - Americas Markets Summary

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s mid-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: February WTI: $47.08/bbl, up 74 cents; February Brent: $47.63/bbl, up 72 cents
Crude prices firmed up as market speculators responded to the tensions in the Middle East and sentiment that OPEC was trimming output in an attempt to support prices. WTI (West Texas Intermediate) topped out at $48.68/bbl before retreating.

NATURAL GAS: $5.956/MMBtu, down 1.5 cents
Natural gas prices inched down in early trading as forecasts called for slightly higher temperatures in the northern US.

RBOB: $1.1507/gal, up 4.02 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) futures prices climbed higher alongside the upswing in the crude oil market.

BENZENE: January benzene barges were talked in a wider range of 83-96 cents/gal FOB (free on board), compared with 89-95 cents/gal assessed on 29 December.

ETHYLENE: US ethylene for January was offered at 21.75 cents/lb with a bid heard at 19.75 cents/lb. Ethylene for January last traded on 30 December at 20.50 and 20.75 cents/lb.

PROPYLENE: No refinery-grade propylene (RGP) spot activity was heard on Monday. RGP for January was offered on 2 January at 20 cents/lb. RGP last traded on 17 December at 13 cents/lb.
