SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--State-run Sinopec will restart operations at its 10,000 tonne/month group I base oils unit in Gaoqiao, eastern China in mid February, a company source said on Tuesday.
The Group I unit in the refinery was shut since early December on the back of sluggish demand. It is tentatively scheduled to restart around 10 February, after the Chinese New Year, the source said.
Sinopec also produces Group II and Group III base oils on the same site, and both units are still running normally. The refinery’s monthly production of base oils is estimated at 40,000 tonnes/month.
Other regional producers include PetroChina and Chinese Petroleum Corp.
