India’s NFL seeks consultancy bids for CDM initiatives

NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) has invited bids for consultancy work in securing financial benefits for its clean development mechanism (CDM) initiatives, a company official said on Wednesday.

The last date for the submission of pre-qualification bids is 28 January.

The company is currently implementing a range of projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) at its plants. As a result, it would be eligible for registering for certified emission-reduction credits and the sale of underlying carbon credits.

The ongoing projects include three feedstock changeover projects at its three fertilizer plants, which envisage a switch to natural gas from fuel oil.

NFL also operates ammonia-urea plants at four locations. It also produces industrial chemicals such as nitric acid, sodium nitrate, methanol and argon gas.
