SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--India’s Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has ramped up operations at both its Patalganga and Jamnagar paraxylene (PX) units to 100%, a company source said on Monday.

The company had no plans to carry out future maintenance work at its two PX units for the rest of the year, the source said.

The unit at Patalganga, in Maharashtra state, has a capacity of 245,000 tonnes/year and was brought back on stream after being idle for about one and half months due to squeezed margins.

Reliance is India’s largest producer of PX. Its main base at Jamnagar, in Gujarat state, can produce 1.7m tonnes/year of PX.
