Ming Dih to shut China, Taiwan EPS for Lunar New Year

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Ming Dih Group, a producer of expandable polystyrene (EPS), plans to shut its China and Taiwan units for about a week for the Lunar New Year holidays, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company’s 166,000 tonne/year unit in Taiwan and 100,000 tonne/year unit in southern China would be taken off line on 23 January, with the restart date scheduled on 29 January.

The company operates another 30,000 tonne/year unit in Bangkok, Thailand, which would be running at 50% during the period.
