Japan's Mitsui restarts MIBK plant after repairs

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals restarted its 30,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) plant in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi prefecture, on 13 January as scheduled, a company official said on Tuesday.

The plant was shut last month for mechanical repairs.

“We plan to run the plant at 100%,” he said, adding that the unit was also slated for annual maintenance from 9 October to 13 December this year.
