SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) has raised the operating rate at its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Onsan to around 90% in January, a company source said on Tuesday.
The company lifted the rate by 10 percentage points due to improved polymer demand, the source said.
"We may increase to 100% in February," said the source, adding that the decision would depend on market conditions.
The cracker has been running at a reduced rate since October.
