SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nan Ya Plastics, Taiwan’s largest epoxy resin producer, plans to shut its liquid epoxy resin (LER) facilities late this month amid weak market conditions, a company official said on Tuesday.

Nan Ya operates two epoxy plants at Mailiao and Shulin in Taiwan with a total capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year.

“Both units would be taken off line around 24 Jan for 8-9 days,” the source said, adding that supply to customers would not be affected.

Chang Chun Plastics, Taiwan’s second largest epoxy resin producer, also plans to shut its LER plants in Taiwan due to persistent poor demand.
