SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Saudi Arabia’s Al-Waha Petrochemical Co expects to achieve commercial production at its polypropylene (PP) and propane de-hydrogenation (PDH) projects by the end of February or early March, sources close to the project said on Tuesday.
“The plants have already achieved mechanical completion and are in the process of being commissioned,” one of the sources said.
The complex, located in Al-Jubail, will produce 450,000 tonnes/year of propylene and 460,000 tonnes/year of PP.
Al-Waha Petrochemical is a joint venture between Sahara Petrochemical Co and LyondellBasell. The plant will use LyondelBasell’s Sperizone process.
