HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US polycarbonate (PC) exports in November were 27,821 tonnes, up by 35% from the 20,622 tonnes shipped same month a year before, according to the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Tuesday.
Exports in the month were 19% less than the 34,665 tonnes exported in October.
From January through November, the US shipped 395,247 tonnes of PC, up 8% from 365,898 tonnes during the same period the year before, the ITC said.
Shipments to China have outstripped those to Mexico in 2008. In the first 11 months of that year, exports to China were 98,300 tonnes, compared to 83,033 tonnes to Mexico. In the same period the year before, the two countries received 83,047 tonnes and 82,319 tonnes, respectively.
Global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing assessed PC prices at $2,646-2,866/tonne (€1,985-2,150/tonne) on 7 January, compared with $3,307-3,527/tonne on 19 November.
