MOVES: Rohm and Haas CEO elected to US Conference Board

TORONTO (ICIS news)--US global business research organisation The Conference Board has elected Rohm and Haas CEO and chairman Raj Gupta to its board of trustees, it said on Wednesday.

Gupta’s colleagues on the board of trustees include, among others: Hans Wijers, CEO of AkzoNobel; Josef Ackermann, head of Deutsche Bank; Nandan Nilekani, co-chairman of Infosys Technologies; Richard Clark, CEO of Merck & Co; and Klaus Kleinfeld, CEO of Alcoa.

Gupta, who became CEO and chairman of Rohm and Haas in 1999, also serves on a number of other boards, including the American Chemistry Council, Tyco, Vanguard Group and Hewlett-Packard.

Specialty chemicals producer Rohm and Haas is due to become part of Dow Chemical in an $18.5bn (€14.1) merger.

The New York-based Conference Board is described as a global independent membership organisation that publishes information and analysis, makes economics-based forecasts and assesses trends, and brings together senior executives from around the world.
