SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s LG Chem will shut its 120,000 tonne/year 2-ethyl hexanol (2-EH) plant in Yosu at the end of the third quarter for a maintenance turnaround, a company official said on Friday.

“The 2-EH plant will be shut for 14 days,” the source said, adding that there would be limited spot material during the shutdown due to contract commitments.

The source did not disclose exact dates of the turnaround.

Other 2-EH producers in the region include Indonesia’s PTPetro Oxo Nusantara (PON), Japan’s Kyowa Hakko Chemical Co, China’s Qilu Petrochemicals and Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical.
