India and the US sign biofuel cooperation MoU

NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India and the US have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate on biofuels, the Indian government said on Tuesday.

The MoU provides framework for cooperation on the scientific, technical and policy aspects of the production and marketing of biofuels, the government said.

Eight specific areas have been identified in which the two countries will work together. These include advanced conversion technologies for first-generation biofuels and emerging technologies for next-generation biofuels, the government release said.
