SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China’s Shandong Hualu Hengsheng Chemical expects to start commercial production at its new 200,000 tonne/year acetic acid line in the second quarter, sources close to the company said on Friday.

Testing of the production units at the new plant located at Dezhou in China’s Shandong province was completed in January, they said in Mandarin.

Raw material methanol will be supplied from the company’s 200,000 tonne/year plant at the same location, sources added.

Company officials were not available for comment.

The producer is targeting markets in eastern and southern China through the rail network in the Shandong region and the Lanzhou and Lanshan ports, according to earlier reports.
