LONDON (ICIS news)--The European February phenol contract has increased by €106/tonne ($136/tonne) from January on the benzene contract settlement, producers and consumers confirmed on Friday.
“We have moved our phenol price up with benzene, but demand remains weak,” confirmed a phenol producer.
A Phenol consumer also confirmed that the February phenol contract had increased by €106/tonne due to the benzene settlement.
“Demand overall is not brilliant but we have increased phenol with benzene,” said another producer.

The February phenol contract settled at €760-800/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest
($1 = €0.78)
