SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Sichuan Vinylon will bring forward a scheduled one-month annual turnaround at its 200,000 tonne/year vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant in Chongqing, China, to April, a company official said on Monday.

“Works will be carried out to prepare the plant to receive feedstock natural gas supply from an additional source, the Puguang gas field in Sichuan,” he said in Mandarin.

A perennial shortage of natural gas supply during the winter season typically caps VAM output at the plant, necessitating supplies from other sources, the official added.

Sichuan Vinylon’s natural gas feedstock is currently supplied by Sinopec Gas Company.
