US Fluor wins contract for €350m Portugal refinery project

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Fluor has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a €350m ($443m) conversion project at Galp Energia’s Porto refinery in Portugal, the US petrochemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.

The project would, when completed in the fourth quarter of 2010, produce some 2.5m tonnes/year of diesel, gasoline and kerosene fuels, Fluor said.

According to Galp’s 2007 annual report, the Porto refinery has an existing capacity of 90,000 bbl/day and includes plants to make aromatics and base oil, as well a lubricants blending facility.
