Samsung Petchem to shut one Ulsan PTA line in April

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s Samsung Petrochemical Co plans to shut its 450,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) No 2 line at Ulsan in April for maintenance lasting about 10 days, a company source said on Friday.

“The maintenance is scheduled for April, exact dates will be known later,” said the source.

Samsung, Korea’s largest PTA producer, operates a total of four PTA lines with a total nameplate capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year.
