HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US Solutia's rubber chemicals subsidiary, Flexsys, is moving forward with its ongoing patent-infringement case against Asia rubber chemical and tyre producers, the company said on Thursday.

Flexsys accused Singorgchem of infringing on its patents for making 4-aminodiphenylamine (4-ADPA) intermediates. Flexsys also alleges that the Kumho petrochemical and tyre companies are making products with the Singorgchem material.

Flexsys initially filed the suit in US court in the northern district of Ohio in 2005, the company said. However, the case was put on hold after Flexsys filed a similar complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

Flexsys plants to withdrew its complaint with the ITC, allowing the Ohio case to proceed, the company said. The withdrawal will allow Flexsys to present its case to a jury.
