SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to restart its phenol-acetone plant in Kashima in the second half of March, a company source said on Friday.

The unit, with a capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 150,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was taken offline in early February due to weak market conditions.

"The plant will resume operation in the second half of March," the source said, adding that the restart dates were yet to be fixed.
