LONDON (ICIS news)--Iran’s National Petrochemical Co (NPC) restarted production at its 1m tonne/year methanol plant at Fanavaran, Bandar Imam, on Thursday and is now ramping up production, a company source said on Friday.

The plant was shut three weeks ago for maintenance.

The company’s other 1.65m tonne/year methanol facility in Zagros was running at 60-65% of capacity.

Several plants in Russia and central Europe were also either running at reduced rates or on extended shutdown owing to weak demand.
