Belarus’s January-February fertilizer output down

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Belarus produced 378,300 tonnes of potash in January-February 2009, down 60.1% from the same period in 2008, the Belarus statistical agency said on Tuesday.

Belarus’s output of mineral fertilizers in the January-February period was 532,900 tonnes, down 51.7% year on year, according to a statement released by the agency.

In addition, the country produced 122,800 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers during the first two months of 2009, down 7.8% year on year, the statement said.
