Momentive to open PU additives lab in Germany

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Momentive Performance Materials will open a polyurethane (PU) additives laboratory in Leverkusen, Germany, the US firm said on Wednesday.

“This new laboratory demonstrates our strong commitment to the polyurethane industry and facilitates new product innovation and customer support,” Ian Moore, Momentive CEO for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, said.

The Leverkusen PU additives laboratory, Momentive’s fifth such facility globally, would include foam prototyping capabilities and a comprehensive physical testing lab, the company said.

Based in Albany, New York, Momentive is described as a specialty materials company focused on silicones, quartz and ceramics markets.

Momentive is controlled by private equity firm Apollo Management which bought the business in 2006 from General Electric.
