SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--LANXESS has started operations at its new plant for lubricant oil additives in Qingdao, Shandong province, a company official said on Friday.
"With this new facility, we are underlining our strategy of profitable growth in greater China," said Martin Kraemer, CEO of LANXESS Greater China.
The new plant produces specialised additive formulations for lubricants, to be branded as Additin, a company official said.
The additives, which are environmentally friendly, are used to enhance and improve the quality and performance of industrial applications, the company official said.
The plant was the result of a nearly €5m ($6.8m) investment and is operated by LANXESS’ subsidiary, Rheine Chemie.
LANXESS is a multinational manufacturer of specialty chemicals and a producer of lubricant oil and rubber.
