SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Co (PIC) has achieved full production at its polypropylene (PP) plant at Shuaiba following its restart early this week, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The production loss at the 120,000 tonne/year PP plant due to the unscheduled shutdown was estimated at around 7,000 tonnes, the source added.
"We used the opportunity to conduct some maintenance at the PP unit," the source said. The FCC unit had also restarted and was operating normally, the source added.
The FCC unit is located at the adjoining Shuaiba refinery, which is run by Kuwait National Petroleum Co (KNPC).
PIC is a completely-owned subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC).
