HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US methanol marketer Southern Chemical Corporation on Thursday nominated its April methanol contract price at 60 cents/gal ($200/tonne, €148/tonne), rolling its price from March.

The roll did not surprise most market participants as spot prices have not varied much over the past two months.

Contract prices from SCC have not changed since February, when its contract rate was at 61 cents/gal FOB (free on board) US Gulf (USG) .

US methanol spot prices were at 39-42 cents/gal FOB USG on Thursday, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

In late January, spot levels were at 41-44 cents/gal FOB USG.
