LONDON (ICIS news)--Industrial new orders in the European Union (EU) decreased by 30.7% in January year on year, while orders for chemicals dropped by 23.5%, official statistics agency Eurostat said on Friday.
In the 16-member eurozone industrial new orders in January fell 34.1% while chemicals orders were down 24.5%.
Compared with the previous month, January chemicals orders were up by 0.3% in the 27-member EU and by 2.1% in the eurozone.
Total industrial new orders decreased by 2.2% in the EU and by 3.4% in the eurozone month on month.
