Fluor wins contract for Saudi acrylic monomer plant

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Fluor won a project-management consulting contract for a 250,000 tonne/year acrylic monomer plant to be built in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, a partner in the project said on Friday.

The partner, Rohm and Haas, said it is building the plant under the Saudi Acrylic Monomer Co joint venture it formed with Tasnee and Sahara Olefins Co (TSOC).

The plant will be 75% owned by TSOC and 25% by Rohm and Hass. It is scheduled to start up during 2012, Rohm and Haas said.

Additionally, Fluor was awarded the process design package for the plant, Rohm and Haas said.
The value of the contracts was not revealed.
