SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Janapn's Mitsui Chemicals, Asia’s largest phenol-acetone producer, brought forward the annual turnaround of its plant in Chiba by two weeks, a company source said on Monday.

“The unit was taken offline on 20 March and will remain idle till mid-April,” the source said without giving further details.

The plant - a joint venture with Idemitsu Kosan - was initially slated for a 15-day turnaround starting from early April.

The facility can produce 230,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 80,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
