Germany's Altana acquires DyStar's plastic additives unit

LONDON (ICIS news)--Altana has acquired the high-performance additives business of Frankfurt-based DyStar for an undisclosed sum, the German specialty chemicals company said on Tuesday.

Altana said the business, which has annual sales of about €7.5m ($9.9m), will be integrated into Altana’s BYK additives and instruments division, with production moved to BYK’s main plant in Wesel, Germany.

Altana said the acquired business mainly comprises of technologies for the production of additives for the processing of plastics compounds, as well as existing customer contacts.
