TORONTO (ICIS news)--Rohm and Haas plans to exit its powder coating plant site at Castellón in Spain but will build a smaller facility in the same area, the US specialty chemicals producers said on Wednesday.
The transition would take place throughout 2009 and into 2010, it said.
“This new set up will be less extensive than our current site, reflecting the new dynamics of the Spanish market, however it will enable us to offer excellent service to our customers and to remain very competitive by reducing our manufacturing costs,” Xavier Susterac, Rohm and Haas’ general manager for powder coatings in ?xml:namespace>
The company, which has become part of Dow Chemical, did not disclose investment sums or capacity details.
