Japan’s Shin-Etsu to shut down Kashima PVC plant in June

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Shin-Etsu Chemical will shut down its 550,000 tonnes/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Kashima for a scheduled turnaround in mid-June, a source close to the company said on Thursday

The turnaround would last a week, the source said.

Shin-Etsu is the world’s largest PVC producer with a total global production capacity of around 3.8 million tonnes/year.
