SHANGHAI(ICIS news)--A blast at a local chemicals warehouse in Zhenjiang city in China's eastern Jiangsu province has killed one person and caused a massive fire, an official from the local fire department said on Friday.

The blast took place in the two-room warehouse, storing a number of chemicals including methanol and cyclohexanone, on Thursday morning but its cause was still not known, the official said.

"The fire was put out by us after several hours. Nobody else was injured except for the death of the warehouse keeper," the official told ICIS news.
