SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwanese expandable polystyrene (EPS) producer Ming Dih Group has started maintenance work at its 60,000 tonne/year No 1 line at Kaohsiung, a company source said on Wednesday.
The maintenance work started on 12 April, with the company planning a turnaround at its 106,000 tonne/year No 2 line later this week, the source said.
The turnarounds at both lines were expected to last around two weeks, the source said.
The company’s 100,000 tonne/year unit at Zhongshan, in southern China, is running at around 70% capacity, the source said.
Its 30,000 tonne/year unit at Bangkok, Thailand, was unaffected by the recent anti-government demonstration and continues to operate normally.
Other Taiwanese EPS producers include the Loyal Group, Taita Chemicals and Dearman Chi-Meng.
