SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China’s Puyang Longyu plans to restart its 200,000 tonne/year coal-based methanol plant in Henan province by next week after a scheduled turnaround since early April, a company source said on Friday.

The facility started commercial production in November 2008.

Chinese methanol prices were assessed at $225-245/tonne (€171-186/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) China last Friday, up around $5-10/tonne from the previous week due to tight domestic supply, according to global chemical intelligence service ICIS pricing.

($1 =€0.76)
