SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Tosoh Corp has restarted its caustic soda plant in Yokkaichi on 16 April after more than a month-long scheduled turnaround, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The source said the plant, located at Mie prefecture in western Japan, was expected to achieve full operating rates in the next 2-3 days.

The caustic soda facility consists of two lines with a combined annual capacity of 184,000 tonnes/year. Both lines were shut on 6 March.

The company runs other 950,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant in Nanyo that operated normally during the Yokkaichi turnaround, the source added.
