NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Thursday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Jun WTI $48.456bbl down 29 cents/bbl Jun BRENT $49.63/bbl down 18 cents

Crude futures weakened on Thursday morning in Asia after losing ground the previous day. Prices fell amid renewed concerns over the strength of the global economy and further signs of weak oil demand, with the latest US supply data revealing a large build in crude stocks.

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened stable on Thursday. First half June price indications were pegged at $444.00-447.00/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half June at $441.50-444.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half July at $440.00-443.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices edged up this morning with higher bids reported. Bids for June loading were heard at $585/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea with no firm offers located.

TOLUENE: Buy-sell indications for June parcels were heard at $580-610/tonne FOB Korea, largely unchanged from yesterday.
