HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US polyvinyl chloride (PVC) contract prices for April settled flat from last month, buyers and sellers said on Thursday.
Producers had nominated a 3 cent/lb ($66/tonne or €51/tonne) PVC price hike for April contracts, but support for that initiative lost momentum as feedstock ethylene contract prices stabilised.
As a result of the rollover, April PVC contract prices were assessed at 54-56 cents/lb for pipe grade resin and 58-60 cents/lb for general purpose grade material, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
However, producers have announced 3-5 cent/lb price hike nominations for May contracts, market sources said.
US PVC producers include Westlake Chemical, Occidental Chemical, Georgia Gulf, Shintech and Formosa Plastics.
