Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics fails to restart No 2 BPA line

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s largest bisphenol-A (BPA) producer, Nan Ya Plastics, has failed to restart its 100,000 tonne/year No 2 BPA line this week, a company official said on Friday.
The line, located at its petrochemical complex in Mailiao, has been shut since 20 March. Attempts to restart the line failed due to technical difficulties, he added.
"We have not been able to restart the line, but we are confident that it should be up and running by next week (at the) latest," the official said in Mandarin.
He said the other three lines, located at the same complex, were currently running at full capacity.
Nan Ya Plastics has a total of four BPA production lines, with a combined nameplate capacity of 420,000 tonnes/year.
