Japan’s Mitsui Chem restarts Chiba phenol plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Asia’s largest phenol-acetone producer, Japan's Mitsui Chemicals, restarted its Chiba-based plant on Friday after a month-long shutdown, a company source said.

The plant was currently running at a reduced rate of 60%, the source added.

The plant, a joint venture with Idemitsu Kosan, can produce 230,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 80,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
