HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s mid-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.
CRUDE: Jun WTI: $51.23/bbl, up $1.61; Jun Brent: $51.65/bbl, up $1.54
Crude prices rose sharply, extending Thursday’s gains, in response to further weakening of the US dollar and a stock market rally. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) topped out at $51.75/bbl before retreating.
NATURAL GAS: $3.311/MMBtu, down 9.8 cents
Natural gas futures prices plunged in early floor trading as forecasts called for warmer temperatures, and domestic supplies were 23% higher than the five-year average, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
RBOB: $1.4335/gal, up 3.91 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) futures prices followed crude oil values higher.
BENZENE: US May benzene was talked in the mid $1.90s/gal, mostly unchanged from a day earlier.
ETHYLENE: US ethylene bid/offers were at 22.00-23.50 cents/lb on Friday. Ethylene for April was last heard traded at 23.50 cents/lb on Monday.
PROPYLENE: Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for April was offered at 24.00 cents/lb on Friday. RGP for April traded at 23.50 cents/lb on Thursday.
