LONDON (ICIS news)--Industrial output in the EU fell 18.8% in March compared with the same month in 2008, while production of chemicals dropped 19.3% year on year, official statistics agency Eurostat said on Wednesday.
In the 16-member eurozone, industrial production in March dropped by 20.2% compared with the same month last year, while chemicals output fell 20.6% year on year.
The production of chemicals in March declined 3.1% against February's figure in the 27-member EU and fell by 4% in the eurozone.
Compared with February, total industrial production in March declined by 1.9% in the EU and by 2.0% in the eurozone.
