LONDON (ICIS news)--Oxea has agreed to acquire ExxonMobil’s esters plant in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the German chemicals producer said on Wednesday.

The company did not disclose the financial details of the deal, which was expected to close in July.

Oxea planned to continue esters production at the site in addition to producing specialties used in lubricants, flavours and fragrance pharmaceuticals and plasticizers.

“Our major advantage is that we produce the base materials for ester production ourselves. This makes us independent and further improves our supply capability,” said Oxea executive board spokesperson Martina Floel.

The esters plant currently employs 19 people.
