Bayer MaterialScience forms pact with US Nano Terra

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Bayer MaterialScience and US-based nano technology firm Nano Terra have formed an alliance to cooperate on developing and testing new films product solutions and manufacturing options, they said on Friday.

Under their pact, Nano Terra would apply its surface engineering expertise to Bayer's materials to create new surface functionalities, they said.

“We are committed to delivering improved films product solutions to our customers through the judicious application of new technologies such as Nano Terra’s,” Bernd Steinhilber, senior vice president and head of functional films at Bayer MaterialScience, said.

Nano Terra president Ueli Morant said: “Bayer MaterialScience’s leading global position in the polymer and coatings raw material market makes them an ideal partner for Nano Terra.”

Financial or other terms were not disclosed.
