SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to shut its phenol-acetone plant in Kashima on 21 May for a five-week annual turnaround, a company source said on Monday.

"The plant will be shut until the end of June," the source said.

The plant produces 250,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 150,000 tonnes/year of acetone. The unit had resumed full operations in end-March after an unplanned shutdown in early February due to weak market conditions at the time.
