Belarus January-April petrochemical output down

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Belarus produced 732,500 tonnes of potash in the January-April period, down almost 61% from the same period last year, the Belarus statistical agency said on Friday.

The country’s mineral fertilizers output during the period totalled 1.06m tonnes, down 50.5% from 2008, according to the statement.

Belarus produced 261,000 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers in the January-April period, down 2.8% year on year, it said.

Total plastic and synthetic resin production for the period was down by 11.1% year on year at 122,000 tonnes, while the country's fibres and yarns production was down by 23.8% at 58,800 tonnes, the statement said.
