HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US methanol marketer Southern Chemical Corp (SCC) on Wednesday nominated its North American May methanol contract price at 60 cents/gal ($200/tonne, €142/tonne), rolling its price from May.

The price announcement marked the fourth month in a row that SCC continued its price from the previous month, as demand for methanol, a key feedstock for several chemicals, remained weak in the US.

Earlier on Wednesday, Canadian producer Methanex also rolled its June contract rate at 60 cents/gal.

US methanol spot prices were at 54-56 cents/gal FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
