Mitsubishi to shut MIBK plant for maintenance on 6 June

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to shut its 20,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) plant in Mizushima, Okayama prefecture, on 6 June for scheduled maintanence, a company official said on Tuesday.

The plant was expected to resume operations around mid-July, he added.

MIBK is mainly used as a solvent for industrial paints and in the production of rubber chemicals.
