SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s Samsung Petrochemical has revised the shutdown plan for its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) units in June and will now idle only one line instead of two, company sources said late on Thursday.

The company had said in April that it would shut its No 2 line for 10 days and its 700,000 tonne/year No 4 facility at Daesan for the same duration in June.
“We’d not decided if we’d have further shutdowns for June, or in July, as a lot would depend on the [market conditions],” one of the sources said.
